Kenya Safari Acrobats, Thursday, March 8, 2012, 7:30 PM

The Kenya Safari Acrobats present a spectacle for the eyes, ears, and the heart. Death defying stunts, comedy, audience participation and heart pounding music combine to create a production that will have all ages on the edge of their seats.

Standing StarThe Kenya Safari Acrobats offer a truly unique cultural experience. Hailing from the heart of Africa, this awe-inspiring and dynamic 8 member dance troupe takes acrobatics to exhilarating extremes. The group members learned acrobatics as children on the beaches of Kenya, as a means to break free from an impoverished country. Now they serve as artistic ambassadors for Kenya as they travel the globe, entertaining and inspiring audiences of all ages. They have traveled to Tanzania, US, Mexico, Canada and Japan....and have performed at the White House, Disneyland, Six Flags, the Super Bowl, for MGM Entertainment, and for a number of NBA teams.

The program is a non-stop ride of gravity-defying human pyramids, balancing, tumbling, limbo dancing, hurling through hoops and breathtaking contortions, all while clapping to a joyful Benga beat. These gymnasts are a huge crowd pleaser. This show will leave the audience on their feet and filled with a sense of awe and amazement.

More:

The Kenya Safari Acrobats are Natives of Kenya. Kenya is located in East Africa and the capital city is Nairobi. The acrobatic show is both educational and entertaining.

The Kikuyu tribe is the largest in Kenya. Their tribesmen are required to perform extraordinary feats to earn their tribal markings such as climbing to the top of a coconut tree to pick an elder a coconut. As this story is told an acrobat begins performing Chair Stacking, a precarious balancing act between chair and man.

The story begins with a tourist visiting Africa. After being separated from his group, he stumbles upon an abandoned native village. One morning, he explores the various items left behind and begins to play the drums, which startles the natives. The tourist has nothing to defend himself with and pushes the blame to…The Audience! Audience members will be worked into the plot and brought to stage throughout the show in this exciting and entertaining African romp. Danger will always be prevalent as the natives figure out different ways to finish the tourist off. Each major production number is tied together with the tourist buying time creating games with the items the natives are using to get kill him (instead of trying to hang him with a rope, he teaches them to jump rope). The more the natives are entertained, the longer he has to live, and hopefully win them over so he may survive.

Lost In Africa features many amazing stunts never seen in North America including Bed of Nails, High-flying Jump Rope, Human Pyramids, Contortion, Chair Stacking, and much more. These amazing athletes have performed for corporate events, fairs, and festivals around the world.
